    Entrepreneur Spotlight: Matt Lockhart

    /

We’re very excited to kick off our Entrepreneur Spotlight blog series with a look at a good friend of ours in Laramie – Matt Lockhart! Levi & I have had the honor of getting to know the Lockhart family through our Laramie Dance & Arts Center in Laramie. Matt and his lovely wife Davina own two locations for The Human Bean in Laramie – on the east side of town (a convenient walk from UW’s War Memorial Stadium), and a brand new second location in West Laramie (easy to find right off Snowy Range Road on your way to adventure via Highways 130 or 230!) Matt and Davina are generous…

2025 Downtown Powell Christmas Parade – by Greg Wise

    /

Our friend, photographer and long-time Powell resident Greg Wise shared some fun images from the recent Downtown Powell Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6 – and we couldn’t help but want to share the fun! If you’ve never been to Powell, a nearby jaunt from Cody, I’ve always found it a joy to visit. The people, the atmosphere, the nearby Heart Mountain Interpretive Center, the scenery – I always enjoyed it when I spun through on a distribution trip. Thanks Greg for letting us share your work! Here’s what Greg had to say about his pics: “What a great night in our great small town of Powell!!! It was not…

Beauty + Vision in Southeast Wyoming

    /

Article by Kati Hime; Images by Levi Hime This article appeared in our 2021 edition of WLM. Tony and Jennifer Kirchhoefer’s home, nestled ingeniously in a beautiful pocket of space near Vedauwoo just outside of Laramie, melds natural beauty, creative vision and their family’s personality. The Kirchhoefer family worked closely with Laramie-based Elk Ridge Builders & Design to create a warm and welcoming home in a notoriously environmentally challenged area of Wyoming. While it is certainly a large home at over 6800 square feet total, you instantly feel a cozy family vibe when you walk in the door. For the Kirchhoefers, location was as important as the home itself. An…

From the Wyoming Department of Transportation Doyle Vaughan, of Jackson, and Daniel Hawkins, of Greybull, are the latest inductees into the Wyoming Aviation Hall of Fame for their work in the field of aviation. With the Wyoming Aviation Hall of Fame celebrating its 25th anniversary, organization leaders wanted to mark the milestone by inducting two individuals this year. Daniel J. An experienced fixed wing pilot, Hawkins also was a highly experienced helicopter pilot who used helicopters in a variety of applications. Pioneer Museum’s Sheep Shearing Day in Lander

    /

Pioneer Museum Sheep Shearing Day — A Wonderful Woolly Day! text & images courtesy Pioneer Museum, Lander On the prettiest day of the spring so far, over 300 people came out to Lander’s Pioneer Museum to celebrate the history and heritage of the sheep industry in Fremont County and have fun. It was the third annual Sheep Shearing Day, which has been a popular spring event at the museum. Designed to recognize the long history of the sheep industry in the area, there were shearing demonstrations, crafts for kids, a petting zoo, horseback rides and talks on the history of sheep. Sponsored by the Lander and Riverton McDonalds, it was…

MY WYOMING A Trip Down Memory Lane in Sheridan plus Buffalo and Two Mountain Passes By Bill Sniffin As readers of this column know, I am no fan of the “new” JC Penney Company. It is my contention that old James Cash Penney (whose first store was right here in Wyoming, in Kemmerer), is spinning in his grave as how his successors have managed to ruin that company. But I loved the old Penney’s and I took a trip down memory lane at that company’s long-time store on Main Street of Sheridan recently. There, smack in the heart of the town, is an old-fashioned Penney Store, complete with a basement, a…

    Downtown Sheridan Wraps Up Summer!

From the Downtown Sheridan Association… The days are getting shorter, and I for one look forward to a little slower pace…but, honestly there is still so much going on and so many reasons to visit downtown, I never do seem to get much time to unwind! This week, our final 3rd Thursday will feature the Craft Brothers and the Sheridan High School varsity teams pep rally. Be sure to stop by the main stage for the first ever “flash mob” to be held on Main Street at 7pm!   The following Thursday at the weekly farmers’ market on Grinnell Plaza, CATO Ranch and the Cottonwood Shop are sponsoring the first…
