Frozen Fury on the Plains Bronc Futurity – Through the Lens of 3H Rodeo – by Wayne Hassinger, Photojournalist – 3H Photography/3H Rodeo

    /

Two weeks ago, I finally got back in the dirt at the Frozen Fury on the Plains Bronc Futurity at the Archer Complex in Cheyenne—and it felt good to be home behind the lens. There’s just something about the smell of arena dirt, the energy of the crowd, and the sound of broncs being loaded in the chutes that flips a switch for me every time. The Frozen Fury on the Plains Bronc Futurity, presented by Pine Bluffs Distilling along with Hell on Wheels Rodeo Company, Visit Cheyenne, and Laramie County Events, had been building momentum for several years, and this year’s event proved exactly why. The stands were full…

Heading into Vegas: 5 Big Storylines for the 2025 NFR — Through the Lens of 3H Rodeo – by Wayne Hassinger, Photojournalist – 3H Photography/3H Rodeo

    /

As we prepare for the energy, excitement, and suspense of what is the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), I thought I’d share some storylines heading into this year’s Super Bowl of Rodeo. It is important to note at the onset, while I capture a lot of rodeo action through the lens, I am not a “carded” PRCA photographer and thus do not have access to “shoot” the National Finals Rodeo. PRCA photographers must go through a comprehensive process to get their card, and even then, they must be selected to shoot the NFR. While I await news on my recent PRCA application, I continue “shooting” amateur, youth, and pro rodeos…

Capturing the Heart of the West: Welcome to the 3H Rodeo Blog Series — by Wayne Hassinger, 3H Rodeo / 3H Photography

    /

Hey Folks,                     I’m Wayne, the guy behind the lens at 3H Rodeo, the rodeo photography side of 3H Photography, and I’m excited to welcome you to the first in a series of blog posts I’ll be sharing here with Wyoming Lifestyle Magazine – The Blog. In this series, I’ll share the action from everywhere it gets a little western – inside the arena as well as from behind the chutes and the practice pen – all from the wide-open skies of rodeos and eventing across Wyoming and the Mountain States. At 3H Rodeo, we don’t just photograph rodeos—we live and breathe the western lifestyle and capture its essence in pictures…

A Circle of Unstoppable Inspiration from Dubois

    /

Written by Kati Hime, Wyoming Lifestyle Magazine Images by Adria Trembly, Dubois & Levi Hime, Wyoming Lifestyle Magazine I was sitting in the Ford Wyoming Center (previously known as Casper Events Center) in February 2022, watching the Wyoming High School Activities Association’s State Wrestling for the first time. Our 16-year-old son, Vaughn, was down on the floor, huddled up with his team from Laramie High School. He was proudly sporting his long-sleeved state t-shirt the guys had received for the event, “HIME” emblazoned down one arm, which matched mine sitting up in the stands and Levi’s from his spot on the floor, taking pictures. Looking around me, parents were clad…

GO WYO! UW Nordic Men’s Team Captures 2nd Straight National Championship Title

    /

GO WYO! UW Nordic Men’s Team Takes National Title March 14, 2016 — The University of Wyoming men’s Nordic team finished a perfect week, sweeping all four events to capture its second straight title at the 38th annual United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) national championships Saturday in Lake Placid, N.Y. Despite winning three of the four races, the UW Cowgirls couldn’t quite finish high enough in the final team relay event, placing third, which allowed Clarkson University (Potsdam, N.Y.) to slip into first place. The UW women finished second in the nation for the second consecutive season. With its second straight USCSA national championship, the UW men…
