\nDowntown Rock Springs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\u00a0<\/em>Rock Springs, WY<\/em> \u2013 \u00a0The Rock Springs Main Street\/Urban Renewal Agency is pleased to announce the Art Underground Gallery, an exciting new project designed to bring life, color and art to the pedestrian underpass in Downtown Rock Springs.\u00a0 The gallery is also meant encourage the community to get involved in adding color and creativity to our public spaces. Residents of all ages are invited to create an individual mural that will be displayed in the underpass, semi-permanently.<\/p>\nA limited number of primed canvases (2\u2019 by 4\u2019 plywood) are available for the community to pick up, free of charge.\u00a0 They can be picked up from the Rock Springs Main Street\/URA office at 603 S Main Street in Downtown Rock Springs.\u00a0\u00a0 Completed canvases should be returned to the Rock Springs Main Street\/URA office by September 1, 2015.\u00a0 Because there are a limited number of canvases, they are available on a first come, first served basis.\u00a0 Once all canvases have been given out, we can no longer accept entries.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\nGuidelines for murals:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- All artwork must be the artist\u2019s individual work in design and execution.<\/li>\n
- Work must be able to withstand outdoor display; two coats of marine grade primer are highly recommended.<\/li>\n
- Work must be suitable for all ages.<\/li>\n
- Committee has the right to determine the suitability of work.<\/li>\n
- All mediums and themes are welcome.<\/li>\n
- Canvases will be displayed in the pedestrian underpass which can be somewhat dark so artists are encouraged to created pieces that are bright and colorful.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The installation will be unveiled at a ribbon cutting and public reception on September 16.
