Wyovore — www.wyovore.com<\/a><\/p>\n Our sister publication:\u00a0 Wyoming Weddings — www.wyoweddings.com<\/a><\/p>\n Wyoming\u2019s libraries highlighted on Snapshot Day<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0On Tuesday, Oct. 11 the state\u2019s libraries will host Wyoming Snapshot Day<\/a>, an event highlighting the importance of libraries to the state. More than 60 libraries will collect photos, comments and usage numbers to illustrate their impact every day of the year. Participating sites include public, school, special, community college and University of Wyoming libraries.<\/p>\n \u201cWyomingites love their libraries,\u201d Susan Mark, Wyoming State Library statistics librarian said. \u201cThey use them to encourage their kids to read, to find a job, to further their education. Last year, circulation was well over 5 million. Wyoming public libraries alone typically have between 3 and 4 million visits and nearly a million computer uses\u00a0a year. The typical school librarian sees every student in the building at least once a week.”<\/p>\n Many libraries will be taking pictures of their activities and asking patrons to fill out short survey forms and to provide comments. \u201cBeyond the numbers, we really want people\u2019s stories,\u201d Mark said. \u201cWhether it\u2019s a child checking out a book for the first time, a high school student learning how to do research, or someone finding information on how to re-enter the workforce, we want to know how people are using our libraries.\u201d<\/p>\n Wyoming residents can participate in Snapshot Day by visiting their local library and providing their comments.
