High above the beaches and crisp blue water of the lake lies an all together different world that is seldom seen unless a person takes time to climb the cliffs.\u00a0 Since the lake area was carved over a vast amount of time and most of the cliffs were under water at some point in that time, there are dozens of things worth photographing as you climb to the top.\u00a0 In addition to the cliffs themselves, you will find all kinds of interesting and seldom seen sights.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/29.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-304\" title=\"29\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/29.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/29.jpg 750w, http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/29-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/13.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-305 alignleft\" title=\"13\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/13.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.wyolifestyle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/13-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As the layers of shale were being formed, small animals and plants became trapped in the mud.\u00a0 As time went on, these areas were exposed to the elements and eventually those fossilized plants and animals showed up on the surface where you can clearly see them.\u00a0 In other areas, the air pockets had created crystallized formations called geodes. As the cedar trees grow and die, they leave behind pinecones and needles and eventually themselves as nature\u2019s artwork.
