While hiking one day, Ronda found some pretty glass\u00a0in a 1940’s\u00a0landfill\u00a0and realized that the glass would take hundreds of years to disintegrate.\u00a0\u00a0This gave her a way to contribute to recycling efforts in her community.<\/p>\n

Ronda has had a ceramic kiln for years, so she started experimenting with melting glass and began collecting wine bottles and other interesting looking bottles and\u00a0started make wine bottle cheese plates.\u00a0When Ronda removes her plate from the kiln\u00a0and\u00a0starts designing,\u00a0she might add a bead to the plate and attaches a cheese knife with a ribbon. She has deigned her own mold for the handle. There are also molds that she\u00a0uses to melt the bottles\u00a0over and imprints butterflies or\u00a0grapes\u00a0and\u00a0leaves and says “Bon App\u00e9tit.”<\/p>\n

All of Whispering Elk Creations are unique; there are never two alike.\u00a0\u00a0 Ronda also creates custom pieces for weddings or anniversaries or other notable events.\u00a0 One such piece she melted a couple\u2019s special bottle into a plate.<\/p>\n
